Education Advisers operates a number of specialist websites aimed at helping parents narrow their search for a private school or sixth form college and then establish the single one with the right fit for their children. Each website aims to list every eligible independent school or college for free. We are somewhat controversial because we also list schools’ academic records both individually and in 12 separate league tables. It is well known that some Heads decry the publication of league tables, but perhaps they fail to understand the psychology of parents’ use of the internet. A huge proportion of parents will initiate an internet search with the words “top school”,which is why they come to us. However, for each life stage of school, we make available separate free eGuides on “How to choose the right school” explaining to parents all of the criteria they need to take into account to make their selection – not just academic criteria.
Our sites attract more than 350,000 unique visitors each year and the total is increasing rapidly. More than 95% of parents use the sites’ facilities without contacting us directly, A modest percentage but large in number contact us for bespoke advice, when they will talk to a Principal or Senior Adviser before being recommended to a short list of schools.
